Marbella? No thanks, San Pedro is where it's at! Want to head to where the locals hang out, and get a feel for 'real' Spain? San Pedro de Alcantara was ideal for this - we spent five days relaxing on the coast, so here's my favourite things to do in this gorgeous part of Spain!
It is literally what it sounds like - hanging out with and learning about the falconers favourite feathery friends and seeing them fly. They are absolutely gorgeous little beings - have a read about what we learnt, who we met and see the photos from our evening with owls!
Scotland, you beauty. I was in awe as we drove around the many old towns, lochs and glens of Scotland, it truly is a breathtaking part of the United Kingdom! This post isn't a how-to guide, or anything remotely helpful.... What it is though, is a virtual escape through late winter Scotland, and a heavy dose of "I need to go see this myself". I hope you like the photos!
Here's my guide to a perfectly lazy and cheap day in Liverpool on a warm day (because we all know that the weather dictates everything in England! Haha). The photo's barely do this place justice, Liverpool really did surprise me with how lovely it was!
The Welsh live in a truly magical part of the UK - I was lucky enough to escape for a few days and I'm in love with the natural beauty of this part of the world. Here's what we got up to, and what I thought of Wales as a destination!
Need some inspiration for some holidays this new year? How about checking out amazing Munich? We spent a few days walking around and exploring the city just before Christmas, and it was magical. Check out the photos of this stunning German city, and see why you need to visit!
Burleigh Heads is a small but gorgeous part of the Gold Coast, right between Surfers Paradise and Coolangatta. It is a surfers dream, with surf suitable for all levels and plenty of activities to keep people entertained! It has heart, cafes and shops to die for, and a lifestyle to be envious of... We spent a week here, and here is my list of the best things to do in Burleigh Heads!
What I love about AirBnB is the option of connecting with locals – some houses are all to yourself, and in others you are sharing with the hosts. This gives a great feel for what the people are like, how they live their lives, and they can give great recommendations for the best things to see, do and eat. Read all about our first AirBnB experience in Burleigh Heads, Gold Coast :)
Bangkok was my first non-English country experience, and I thought I was prepared for the differences… Apparently not! These are my experiences in Bangkok, and what to be prepared for!
Spending a week in beautiful Christchurch in the middle of winter was great - it's not 'bustling' like neighboring Queenstown and Wanaka, but it's got great character, a lot of heart and lovely people. Here's a list of my favorite things about Christchurch (plus, lots of things to do!).
Cheap, not-so-cheap and rainy day activities to keep you and your family busy in the Coromandel region. There's so much to do here, so here's a few options for you to pick from!
We all need to step out of the box occasionally - traveling included! Don't always stick to the same types of activities, check out the lesser known or more unusual activities wherever you are. I have begun reviewing all of my share-worthy activities on Tripadvisor, so you can find great new things to do on your travels through New Zealand and beyond - cruisey or adventurous!
Art Deco Weekend is a really fun time to visit Napier - there aren't many times that a whole city can capture the imagination of its' visitors and send them back in time. Read about what makes this festival so special....
I missed a few of the best beaches in the Coromandel purely because I hadn't pre-planned our drive and the beaches aren't well signposted, which I don't want you to do too! So here's your guide to getting around, and making sure you make the most of what this fabulous region has to offer :)
After 1600 kilometers, far too many travel snacks and over 600 photographs, I'm home again! A road trip around the east coast of New Zealand was in order, and you will be getting blog posts coming through soon about all these fantastic places and the reasons why you should visit. In the meantime.. Here's a collection of my favorite images from the trip!
I giggled. I clapped. I cheered, whooped and jumped up and down on the spot... I felt like a kid again! But what's a mature and sensible girl (don't laugh!) doing acting like a kid on sugar? It was all fueled by the surprising and talented performers in the International Buskers Festival - see my favorite photos and blurb about it here :)
Want to know what makes Wellington such a magnet? Me too! I spent a weekend in our capital city, and have decided I want to move here. Check out my photographs of Wellington, and all the neat things that make it fabulous!
The Haumoana Market Day lured a few of my friends and I out for a wonderful bike ride through some of Hawkes Bay's cycle trails, and I must say it was well worth the sunburn and sore buns! Check out my photos from our ride and the market :)
Rotorua is an incredible place bursting with culture, wonderful scenery and geothermal parks, adventure and family activities. It's a great destination for a holiday, or even just a quick weekend getaway - check out what we got up to :)
