The Weekend Collection: Travel Blogs & Bloggers

For this weeks inspiration collection, I've drawn from my own niche - travel bloggers! There is a wealth of them on the blogosphere, and they have a fantastic amount of daydream material. Whether you just want some holiday inspo, or want to figure out how to ditch your 9 to 5 for full time travel, these peeps have a story or two for you! Click on the headings to check out their blogs, or on their pictures to check out their Instagram (I'm obsessed with great Instagram feeds). Here's my faves!

Little Grey Box

If you want a feast of travel tips, guides, reviews plus posts on where to stay and what to pack - this is the blog for you! Phoebe's posts are chock full of interesting and helpful information, and she has an intuitive living section too which I always look forward too. Phoebe is one of the fortunate ones who turned her passion for blogging into a full time job, and her husband has recently joined her in business too. I find her very inspiring! Read about her change to full time blogging here :)

Never Ending Footsteps

If you want reassurance that everything will be okay in the end, Lauren has it. This chick has been a seriously unlucky traveler - what can go wrong, has gone wrong for Lauren! But throughout it all, she is positive and quite funny. She is honest, and says things how they are. Disasters aside, her love of the sun and beachy destinations keep me hooked, and I always enjoy her blog posts. She's a bit of a stats geek too (which I love) and as well as her travel stats she gives great insight into where her income comes from and her ongoing travel expenses.

Sea Salt Secrets

I discovered Shane's blog only recently, and I have been really enjoying her new posts as well as skiving through her archives. A young blogger, (I say that like I'm old... but I do always get told I'm an old person inside!) she seems to have a pretty fair idea of how she wants to live her life. I love confidence, determination and direction in people, and Shane has it in droves. Her blog, her photos and her writing are colorful and fun, and she has some great stuff in her archives. Check them out!

Travelettes

This site is just beeeaaauuuutiful. I love it. It makes me happy and smiley inside! There is no way spending hours surfing through their site isn't going to be beneficial - it is just absolutely chock full of fantastic information and travel inspiration. Travelettes is run by a group of young chickadees who specialise in excellent writing, photography, and traveling the world. As they say it - they're your girlfriend who have been there, done that and are happy to give advice, guidelines, tips and personal experience on all things travel. They also have an ace private Facebook group where other traveling women can chat, catch up and ask for advice. If you are on Instagram, check out their hashtags, #iamatravelette and #traveletting - or tag your travel photos, and you might get featured on their feed!

Wanderlusters

This is another well designed site that I ooh and aaah over - it's so easy to find what you need! Search through their treasure trove of posts via destination or activity, or maybe you want to know more about house sitting, ecotourism or how to take amazing photos like theirs? It's all right there for the taking! Charli and Ben left the UK in 2011, and their stories are incredible. They are advocates for the unorthodox lifestyle and going against the grain - check out their story here :) It was through their information and photos of scuba diving that got me hooked on the idea of being under the sea, and also has me keen to go house sitting! Who doesn't want to look after a villa in Costa Rica for a month? Or a cute dog in a house in the South of France? Yes please... Check Wanderlusters out, you will find something inspiring for sure!

Two Little Pigs

These two are the best. The British twins Rosie and Lydia are living the high life in Australia (currently) and blogging about their travels and life experiences. The best part of their writing is that it's like you are listening to a stream of their thoughts - wacky interludes and English slang included! The posts are short and sweet, full of photos and honest snippets about the destinations. No bullshit here, just fun, sun and tales about hitchhiking mice!

P.S I'm On My Way

Trisha is a girl on a mission - and it looks like whatever she puts her mind to, she will achieve. This young chick from the Philippines quit her fashion industry job to go travelling, and gets around the world by volunteering, managing social media for companies, house sitting, teaching English and more. Trisha goes into more detail about these things on her blog, as well as writing about her experiences of living in different places. She swears by living in places for a least a couple of weeks to really get into the culture and people by couchsurfing and organising 'family stays'. I like that her writing is unedited, raw and totally honest, you feel like you are experiencing things alongside her! Read more about her here.

Along Dusty Roads

Travelling and photography are clear talents of this Brit couple - their pictures are absolutely breathtaking, and they travel the world on $25 a day! Andrew and Emily do great 'before you go to...' posts, and have a knack for finding places I've never even heard of before! My favorite post is Emily's girl-chat about letting herself go on the road... "When the number of clothes with holes outnumber those without, your whites haven't been their whitest whites for many a month and your fanciest underwear hasn't been fancy since August, it is difficult to feel at your best." But I promise - it has a happy ending! After reading this, check out the photo section of their blog and gawk at their skills. You're welcome :)
